2026/2027 National Service – Technology
You will work with the Technology team to improve the systems used by customers, dispatchers and other SHAQ EXPRESS teams. In a typical week you may investigate an issue, deliver a small feature or interface improvement, test a change, update Git and documentation, and support users; placements may focus on Laravel/PHP backend, Flutter/Dart mobile, React/TypeScript or Next.js web, UI/UX, QA or product support, and you are not expected to know every stack.

What you will do.
- Clarify assigned issues or feature requests with product, operations and the people who use the system
- Implement or support scoped backend, mobile, web, UI/UX, QA or product-support work in your area of strength
- Reproduce defects, inspect relevant logs, APIs or data, and document the evidence before proposing a fix
- Build or refine user flows, interfaces, components, endpoints or integrations according to the approved task
- Write and run appropriate unit, integration, manual or regression tests before handing over changes
- Use Git branches, clear commits and pull requests so work can be reviewed and traced
- Review feedback, correct defects and retest changes across the affected user journey
- Maintain concise technical notes, setup instructions, release notes and user-facing guidance
- Support users during testing or rollout, record recurring problems and escalate incidents appropriately
- Protect credentials and operational data and follow access, security and change-control procedures
What you will need.
- Have completed, or be on track to complete, the academic requirements for Ghana’s 2026/2027 National Service year
- Demonstrate a sound foundation in at least one relevant area through a project, repository, portfolio or practical exercise
- Explain your own contribution to a project, the problem encountered and how you investigated or resolved it
- Use Git for branches, commits and collaboration, or demonstrate equivalent version-control experience
- Read technical information, communicate clearly and write usable documentation in English
- Break problems into testable steps, verify assumptions and ask focused questions when requirements are unclear
- Be willing to work on-site with the relevant team and follow security, privacy and data-access rules
Good to have.
- Hands-on experience with Laravel/PHP, Flutter/Dart, React/TypeScript or Next.js
- Experience with REST APIs, SQL, relational databases or operational dashboards
- UI/UX experience using Figma, design systems or accessibility principles
- Exposure to automated testing, logging, CI/CD, cloud services or application monitoring
- Experience supporting an internal operations, logistics, e-commerce or customer-service product
