2026/2027 National Service – Fleet Operations
You will support the daily control of SHAQ EXPRESS riders, drivers, motorbikes and vehicles; this is an operations-support role, not a mechanic-only placement. You will keep records current, coordinate inspections and allocation, track servicing, fuel or charging, licences and insurance, respond to breakdowns and incidents, follow up vendors and maintain fleet and safety trackers.

What you will do.
- Maintain accurate rider, driver, motorbike and vehicle records, including branch assignment, contact details, asset status and required documents.
- Coordinate and record daily pre-use inspections, flag defects and confirm that only roadworthy vehicles are released for operations.
- Prepare daily rider, driver and vehicle allocations based on route needs, capacity, availability and operational priorities.
- Track preventive servicing by date, mileage or usage and follow up on due and overdue maintenance.
- Record fuel and electric-vehicle charging activity, review unusual consumption and support the reconciliation of usage records.
- Coordinate breakdown and repair responses by locating the asset, alerting Operations, arranging recovery or replacement and updating its status.
- Record accidents, damage and safety incidents, collect the required information and follow each case through escalation and corrective action.
- Monitor driving licences, insurance, roadworthy certificates and other fleet documents, and flag expiry dates before they affect operations.
- Liaise with approved mechanics, repairers and other fleet vendors, following up quotations, jobs, turnaround times and service records.
- Update fleet and safety trackers and prepare reports on availability, utilisation, downtime, servicing, repairs, incidents and compliance.
What you will need.
- Will have completed all academic requirements and be eligible for the 2026/2027 National Service year before the official commencement date.
- Comfortable coordinating people, assets, records and telephone follow-up in a live operational environment; professional mechanic certification is not required.
- Basic understanding of motorbike and vehicle inspection items, with willingness to learn the requirements of petrol and electric fleets.
- Practical spreadsheet and digital-record skills, with the accuracy to maintain dates, mileage, costs, expiry information and asset status.
- Clear communication with riders, drivers, supervisors and service vendors, including concise escalation of faults and incidents.
- Able to work on-site, inspect records and assets in operational areas and follow branch operating schedules.
- Sound safety judgement and willingness to stop or escalate the use of an unsafe, unroadworthy or undocumented vehicle.
Good to have.
- A valid driving or riding licence.
- Relevant coursework or experience in transport, logistics, fleet administration, automotive studies, engineering or asset management.
- Experience using maintenance trackers, GPS or telematics platforms, fuel records or asset-management systems.
- Exposure to electric vehicles, vendor coordination, workshop records or incident reporting.
