2026/2027 National Service – Dispatch Operations

You will help run the daily dispatch desk by verifying delivery requests, prioritising work, assigning riders and vehicles, monitoring trips live and keeping delivery records accurate. You will coordinate fast responses to delays, unreachable riders or recipients, breakdowns, wrong addresses and COD issues, then confirm outcomes and close each shift with reconciled reports.

What you will do.

  • Verify delivery requests, recipient details, addresses, service type, payment or COD instructions and parcel readiness before dispatch.
  • Prioritise pickups and deliveries by urgency, service commitment, location, available capacity and operational risk.
  • Assign available riders, drivers and vehicles to routes, then issue accurate manifests and handover instructions.
  • Monitor active trips and pickups in real time, contact field teams when progress stalls and keep system statuses current.
  • Provide timely status updates to Customer Service and relevant operational teams so customers and recipients receive accurate information.
  • Coordinate exceptions including delays, unreachable riders or recipients, breakdowns, wrong addresses, failed attempts, returned parcels and COD discrepancies.
  • Confirm completed, rescheduled and failed deliveries using the required evidence, reason and next action before closure.
  • Reconcile manifests, assignments, COD handovers, uncompleted items and returned parcels at the end of each shift.
  • Prepare accurate shift reports covering workload, completion, failures, exceptions and outstanding follow-up.

What you will need.

  • Will have completed all academic requirements and be eligible for the 2026/2027 National Service year before the official commencement date.
  • Able to work on-site and follow the branch operating schedule, including busy dispatch periods and assigned shifts.
  • Clear spoken and written English, with the ability to give concise instructions and record events accurately.
  • Basic numeracy and the ability to reconcile parcel counts, times, manifests and COD figures.
  • Practical computer literacy, including spreadsheets, digital maps and web or mobile applications, with the ability to learn a dispatch system.
  • Able to organise several live tasks, stay calm under time pressure and maintain close attention to detail.
  • Willing to follow dispatch procedures, escalation controls and cash and data-handling rules.

Good to have.

  • Relevant coursework or practical experience in logistics, transport, supply chain, operations or customer service.
  • Experience coordinating riders, drivers, deliveries or another field-based team.
  • Familiarity with route planning, GPS or digital maps, dispatch dashboards, manifests or COD reconciliation.
  • Ability to communicate in a Ghanaian language commonly used in the preferred branch.
